John McNee was a trained painter having studied at the Academie de laGrande Chaumiere, Paris 1934-1935 and the Sorbonne and Beaux Artsacademy in 1945. Back in Berkeley, California he studied at theUniversity of California. In Chicago, Illinois John became aware of theChicago Undergraduate Division of the University of Illinois and wastheir Professor of Art History for the next 30 years.A prolific artists who left his family with hundreds of works on paper,John McNee is a little known artist and we hope that can change. Hiswork is so beautiful it needs to be seen.
