Founder and Director of BlueEaselClub.com, Carol Peebles, continues the tradition of classical realist life drawing through Atelier classes and commissions. Carol's work focuses on portraits and figures drawn from life to celebrate the people in her immediate environment. Recent international and national exhibitions include: Sotheby's NY, The European Museum of Modern Art, MEAM, The Butler Institute of American Art, The Haggin Museum, Salmagundi Club, NY, National Arts Club, NY, The Cincinnati Art Club, The Ogden Museum, and numerous International exhibitions. IAPS Master's Circle Recipient and Winner of Pastel 100's 2019 Ruth Richeson Gold Award, Art Renewal Center Finalist 2020 & 2019 and semi-finalist 2023. Portrait Society of America International Exhibition Finalist 2019 & "Select 50" 2024, 2023, 2022 & 2020. Carol's works have been published in several books and featured in "International Artist Magazine," "Fine Art Connoisseur," "Pastel Journal," "Pastel World," " Pratique Des Arts" & "Pastelagram." A Salmagundi Club Artist Member, Signature Member of the Portrait Society of America, The Pastel Society of America, The Degas Pastel Society, and Allied Artists of America, she has instructed at Studio Incamminati, PA; The Pastel Society of America at the National Arts Club, NYC; Louisiana State University, The University of New Orleans, Pennsylvania State University and currently teaches at The New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts, and her drawing Atelier, BlueEaselClub.com. A New Orleans native, she received her MFA from Penn State University and BA from the University of New Orleans. She attributes her learning of classical realism to Master painter Auseklis Ozols, founder of New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts. A mother of two, she currently lives in New Orleans, Louisiana.
