New Orleans/New Wave: A Celebration of the Life of Diego Cortez (part I)

GRYDER is proud to present New Orleans/New Wave: A Celebration of the Life of Diego Cortez (part I). Highlighting works by New Orleans-based artists who worked with and exemplify the style and vision of the legendary art curator Diego Cortez. Co-curated by artist Dapper Bruce Lafitte who attributes his artistic success to Cortez. Displayed in the same vein as Cortez's groundbreaking 1981 P.S. 1 exhibition New York/New Wave, this show pays tribute to the influential life and career of Diego Cortez and the mark he left on the international art scene and the canon of art history.

 

Featuring works by Dapper Bruce Lafitte, Dawn DeDeaux, John Isiah Walton, Horton Humble, Carl Joe Williams, Rontherin Ratliff, Ana Hernandez, Welmon Sharlhorne, Cubs The Poet, John Barnes, London Mason, Bryan Brown, and Nicole Fernadez.
